Question: Why do most cars have speedometers that go up to at least 130 when you legally can't go that fast on any road?

And most cars can't go that fast either. It is because a large part of the car buying public has way to much testosterone. |

Because the car is able to go around that fast so the need an accurate speedometer. |

Because your speedometer would look dumb if it only went up to 60 and there would be huge gaps between the numbers and you have to take into account that the car can go faster than the speed limit and it would be nice to know if you are going faster than it. |

Never drive your car any faster than it will go. Back in the day, we had speedometers that topped out at 85 MPH. Happily, that stupid rule was done away with. |

The key word in this statement is "legal ". But, if a car company sells me a car that thay say will go 160MPH I'm not going to take their word for it. You can be assured that at some point during my ownership of said car the speedomemter is going to register 160MPH.................and you can take that 'to the bank'. LEGAL, SCHMEGAL ! |

So that 65-70 mph is in the middle, where you can see it most clearly, rather than all the one on the right. |
