Question: Don't turn signals (blinkers) make noise in the interior of all cars?

Driving to work today I was behind a guy who had his turn signal on the whole time. How can this be? Can't he hear it? |

Hey: I have seen some drivers doing that too. I think it is because they are pre-occupied into something else or they are just casual about it. But it causes a lot of inconvenience to the driver behind. These days mobile gadgets are increasing such distractions. |

Starting maybe 15 years ago, they started making turn indicators noiseless. Some people complained about the noise the made. The vehicle I have now doesn't make any noise, and there is no warning system to let you know that you have accidentally left them on. I had a Chrysler product a few years ago, and if you left the signals on for more then 3 minutes or the car accelerated above 40 after turning them on, their was a chime that started going to notify you. Not all car have this warning unfortunately. . |

They do for the most part but several driver-types ignoring turning their signals off and they are lazy, forgetful, distracted and just flat out stupid........... The bottom line is that most drivers are failing to see the importance of turning off their turn signals........ |

I was just driving the other day, I came to a intersection and was waiting for the traffic to clear, so I could make a right hand turn. There was one car coming down the road, he had his right blinker on. So I made my right turn onto the road, only for this guy to be on my rear end laying on his horn. He was mad that I cut him off. He sped around and down the road with his blinker still on. I turned out into traffic because his blinker indicated he was turning right. After the idiot sped by with his horn, I saw that he then realized, he had his blinker on, and that's why I turned in front of him. What a moron take the horn and shove it where the sun don't shine. |

Hey kris you sound like the kettle calling the pot black. Anyone who learned how to driver PROPERLY learned you expect the person to go straight. Even if they have the signal on you wait for it to be safe, so sounds like you were being a moron yourself. To the question at hand, no a lot of cars DON'T make interior noise now. Why drivers can't pay attention to their dash well enough to notice is beyond me, but they can't. I say put the noise back in the car. |

Some people are hearing impaired and can't hear it. That's why you see that alot with the elderly. Or, not hearing impaired but will be because they have the radio/ cd playing so loud that they can't hear the blinker noise!! The final reason could be that they are just not paying any attention, and the blinker noise isn't that loud. Sometimes the other noises of the car are loud and the turn signal noise is faint. |

I don't KNOW. My radio is always cranked up with Ozzie Osbourne. You BETTER have a noisy blinker if you ride a motorcycle though. |

Actualy I've wondered that myself sometimes. Most cars I've been in have turn signals loud enough for you to notice. My guess is the radio was probably so loud the driver couldn't hear a train go by much less his turn signal. At least he had it on. Most people don't even bother to use it. |
